| THE 45-YEAR PLAN |
 | Quite frankly, though some might argue, enterpreneurs feel there are no great jobs. A person could search lists of occupations in vain, trying to find the one job which gives great opportunities and freedom to determine one's own working hours, the type of working conditions, the amount of pay, promotions and retirement benefits. There are no jobs which offer equal amounts of both time and money. The 45-year plan is hardly ideal. Usually a man or woman is 18 to 25 before finishing all the preparation for a vocation or profession. Filled with dreams and youthful expectation, most people quickly reach an income plateau. Even if the economy and workplace stay steady, they do well merely to stay ahead of inflation. Faced with built-in plateaus, most people have to eventually do one of two things: - Scale down their dreams
- Increase their income
| | Since income made in most professions and vocations is dependent upon one's time and energy, and since all of us have a limit as to what we can produce in a day--no matter what our income level--the vast majority of men and women have to settle for scaled-down dreams. That is unfortunate, for what is clearly means is that generally when people reach retirement age, thereby reducing income even more, dreams for the so-called "golden years" must also be altered. |
